The Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) is proud to announce a $25,000 grant award from the Blandin Foundation to support regenerative agriculture efforts across Minnesota.
The funding will help LEDC address critical gaps in services and financing for small and immigrant farmers by focusing on three high-priority barriers:
- Access to credit and capital
- Access to land
- Financial resiliency through financial literacy
Through this investment, LEDC will continue expanding resources and support systems that help agricultural entrepreneurs strengthen and grow their businesses while building long-term sustainability.
Minnesota is home to more than 68,500 farms encompassing 25.5 million acres of farmland. The state ranks fifth in the nation for regenerative agriculture production and supports more than 430,000 regenerative agriculture-related jobs statewide. As interest in sustainable farming practices continues to grow, access to equitable financing and technical support remains essential for emerging and underserved farmers.
“Regenerative agriculture creates opportunities not only for environmental sustainability, but also for economic growth and long-term community resilience,” said LEDC. “This support from the Blandin Foundation helps us continue creating pathways for small and immigrant farmers to access the resources they need to succeed.”
The Blandin Foundation is a private foundation based in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Their mission is to connect, fund and advocate for ideas and people to inspire resourcefulness and move rural places forward.
LEDC is grateful for Blandin Foundation’s partnership and shared commitment to supporting stronger rural communities, sustainable agriculture and economic opportunity for all.
