Rubén Hidalgo is a respected finance leader and decorated U.S. Army combat veteran, originally from Mexico City. His career was shaped at his family’s restaurant in South Minneapolis, Manny’s Tortas, where he was mentored by the owners, Manny and Victoria González, and learned early lessons about entrepreneurship and the power of community.
Rubén brings 10+ years of corporate finance experience, having managed multimillion-dollar budgets at Medtronic and now at Philips, where he guides strategic investment decisions through advanced financial modeling. He is a recipient of the Joint Service Commendation Medal for meritorious service during Operation INHERENT RESOLVE in Baghdad, Iraq.
From 2022 to 2025, Rubén served as Board Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair for LEDC. He holds an MBA in Strategic Growth and a B.A. in Financial Management from the University of St. Thomas – Opus College of Business. Outside of work, Rubén enjoys combat sports, chess, and stand-up comedy.
