City of Northfield Emergency Grants

2026 Grant Funding for Businesses in Northfield, Minn.

To help stabilize businesses affected by Operation Metro Surge, LEDC is offering financial support for businesses in Northfield, Minn., through the Business Emergency Relief Fund.

Eligibility

Businesses must:

  • Be registered and currently operating in the City of Northfield, Minn.
  • Show evidence of revenue loss and direct impact by Operation Metro Surge.
  • Report less than $3 million in revenue in the most recent tax filing.

Priority will be given to businesses that have not previously received grants/funding, to help expand access to new recipients.

When is the application period?

  • Grant applications are open now through December 31, 2026.
  • Funding is limited and applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to eligibility and completeness. You are encouraged to apply early.

When can the grants be used for?

  • These grants are designed to address urgent business needs, including payroll, rent, debt obligations and other immediate operating expenses.

Are certain businesses NOT eligible?

  • Corporate or multistate chains (local franchise is eligible)
  • Nonprofits, schools, churches, government
  • Businesses involved in gambling, pawned merchandise, guns, adult entertainment, billboards, lobbying, passive investment, B2B only, real estate or rental property management
