Vanessa Butler is the Controller at Community Reinvestment Fund, USA (CRF), a national non-profit and leading CDFI based in Minneapolis-St.Paul. She leads CRF’s finance department, oversees audits, and manages cross-departmental financial reporting. With nearly two decades of experience in both corporate and nonprofit finance, she brings deep expertise in financial reporting and supports cross-functional initiatives that strengthen financial integrity and long-term sustainability.
Vanessa was elected Chair of the Finance Committee and Treasurer for LEDC, where she provides strategic financial leadership to the board and helps ensure the organization’s financial health aligns with its mission and goals.
A first-generation Cuban American born and raised in Miami, FL, Vanessa developed an early interest in finance through hands-on experience in her family’s floral distribution business, where she built foundational skills in accounting and operations. She holds a B.A. in Business Administration and an M.B.A. with a focus in Corporate Management from Florida International University.
