The Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) in partnership with East Side Funders Group is raising funds to support East Side and immigrant-owned businesses facing unprecedented challenges due to recent ICE activity in Minnesota.
Our Goal:
Raise $1,000,000 by February 1 and $2,000,000 by March 1. All funds go to the Latino & Immigrant Business Emergency Relief Fund – East Side Saint Paul at LEDC to support rent relief, payroll, and loan debt service (especially SBA loans) for East Side businesses.
The Impacts So Far:
- 86% of businesses report being directly impacted by the current ICE activity
- Over 70% are not operating at full capacity: 44% temporarily closed, 28% operating with limitations, 19% operating normally
Impact severity:
- 51% report a critical impact
- 21% report a high impact
Revenue impact:
- 42% report revenue losses greater than 50%
- 21% report no revenue
- Estimated total monthly revenue loss is approximately $1.1 million
Business viability:
- 40% are viable with timely support
- 23% are viable only with downsizing
- 9% are non-viable and may require exit strategies
