Progress, Partnership and a Plaza Worth the Wait

This summer has brought many signs of progress at LEDC. We have celebrated the achievements of young leaders, strengthened partnerships and continued preparing for a milestone our community has anticipated.

In July, we recognized 13 remarkable students whose hard work, perseverance and leadership earned them scholarships from the Latino Scholarship Fund. We are proud to invest in these future leaders and grateful to the Mexican Consulate, our selection committee, community partners and everyone who helped make the celebration possible.

Plaza del Sol has been a long-awaited vision for LEDC and the East Side of St. Paul. While construction delays have required patience, we are getting closer every day and look forward to welcoming entrepreneurs, partners and the community very soon. Plaza del Sol will be a place to eat, work and gather, creating new possibilities for small business owners and celebrating our community’s culture.

And our work on behalf of entrepreneurs never stops. We continue to help business owners access financing, technical assistance, training and connections that can grow their businesses. Partnerships with groups such as Energy Smart, the SBEEDi initiative and Waste Wise allow us to bring even more resources to entrepreneurs in Minnesota.

Our successes are built on the determination of the people we serve and the commitment of partners who believe in their potential. Thank you for being part of this work and helping us build a stronger, more inclusive economy—one entrepreneur and future leader at a time.
