Grant Applications Available for Businesses Impacted by Recent ICE Activity
Recent federal immigration enforcement activity across Minnesota is placing Latino and immigrant-owned businesses under severe strain. Fear, reduced foot traffic, and sudden revenue loss are forcing many entrepreneurs to make impossible decisions just to keep their doors open.
Nowhere has this impact been felt more acutely than on Saint Paul’s East Side—a historic cultural and economic backbone of the city, home to generations of Latino-owned small businesses that support families, workers, and entire neighborhoods.
At the Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC), we believe small businesses are essential to community stability. In response to this crisis, LEDC has launched the Latino & Immigrant Business Emergency Relief Fund, including grant assistance to help businesses stabilize quickly.
Emergency Grants Now Available

- Payroll and employee retention
- Rent and occupancy costs
- Loan payments and debt relief
- Other urgent operating expenses tied to this crisis
Emergency Business Relief Grants — Application Period Closed
Earlier this year, LEDC launched emergency grant programs to support Latino- and immigrant-owned businesses across Minnesota affected by recent economic disruptions. These grants were created to provide immediate financial relief for businesses facing urgent challenges.
Due to the overwhelming response and high number of applications received, the application periods for these grants are now closed while submissions are reviewed and funds are distributed. LEDC will continue to share updates and future funding opportunities as they become available.
