Christmas Eve, Christmas, and the Pandemic

Dear Minnesota Readers,

The end of the year festivities are here. I have been reviewing the reports that the elves have been collecting throughout the year and have brought me and it seems that most of you have been good neighbors this year. You have followed the recommendations of the CDC, and of course, you will continue to follow them until the pandemic is over.

If we want our desire to see a healthier and healthier Minnesota, please follow the following recommendations these holidays:

  1. Wash your hands with soap and water constantly for at least 20 seconds.

  2. Wear a mask when you think you will be in contact with other people.

  3. Avoid large groups of people and stay 6 feet away from others.

  4. Try to keep a limit of 10 people for any type of family reunion. It is preferable to have meetings online to reduce the risk of getting sick.

  5. If you feel ill, please try to mitigate any interactions with other people for at least 14 days. Visit your doctor when necessary and take a COVID-19 test if you have questions

  6. Try to limit all types of travel during these dates and instead try to meet your family online. It is an appropriate time to reflect on the good that has happened in the year.

I hope that we can all continue to work together to help each other in these times where we have to open our hearts to our neighbors.

Don’t forget to leave a plate of cookies and some hand sanitizer on the table!

Sincerely,

Santa, the Elves and the Reindeer
