Beginning Friday, May 14th, everyone 12 years and older can be vaccinated against COVID-19. In Minnesota, youth between the ages of 12 and 17 are eligible to be vaccinated at State vaccination sites administering the Pfizer vaccine.
For now, the Pfizer vaccine is available in the following locations:
- Bloomington (Mall of America)
- Saint Paul (Roy Wilkins Auditorium)
- Lino Lakes
- Oakdale
Walk-ins are welcome. Youth 12 to 17 years old should go with a parent or legal guardian who can give the required consent for vaccination of minors.
There are many ways to get the Pfizer vaccine:
Vaccine Connector. Sign up directly for a vaccine at one of the state’s Community Vaccination Program sites.
Appointments are not required for people 12 and older at the state’s community vaccination sites that offer the Pfizer vaccine.
Map of vaccine locations. Use this map to find providers offering the COVID-19 vaccine to Minnesota residents 12 and older.
Vaccine search. On this website you can filter by manufacturer so you’ll only see appointments for the Pfizer vaccine.
Healthcare provider – Contact your child’s healthcare provider, your local public health department, or a pharmacy.
COVID-19 Community Coordinators (CCC). Contact any of these organizations offering assistance with COVID-19 related issues in English and Spanish.
Important: For the best protection, the Pfizer vaccine requires a series of two shots. Your child should get the second dose 21 days after the first dose. You are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the second dose.
The Minnesota Department of Health recommends families of youth 12 to 17 all get vaccinated at the same time. You and your child could have some side effects after being vaccinated. This is normal as your body builds protection. More information available here.
